  • Provide supportive services that aid to enable individuals to fully image the Triune God, to have life, and have it abundantly.
  • Provide professional training to Pre-licensed Marriage and Family Therapists to increase confidence and competency in one of the most effective evidenced based theoretical orientations for Couple Therapy; which also aligns and supports a Judeo-Christian Biblical Worldview: Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFCT) and Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT).

A Personal Statement From the Chairman of the Board

The more I experience relationships, the more it is clear that we are made for them. My spiritual convictions align and support this view as well. I know of no other theoretical orientation that can better pull together the wisdom and truth found within Attachment Science and Judeo-Christian Holy Scripture than Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).

My graduate education was taught from the Christian tradition and I am grateful my professional training equipped me as a psychotherapist to understand how a relational God wants to bring restoration to our relationship with others and ultimately with Him.

I am grateful my graduate training offered Emotionally Focused Therapy coursework; nevertheless, I also wish it had offered more. It should be standard practice to implement EFT to work with THE modality that is often sought out, and yet, so often declined or refused:

Couple Psychotherapy.

Thus, the reason I wanted to develop a nonprofit organization that will primarily be a train MFT Trainees in EFT to increase their competence, experience and confidence working with couples as Marriage and Family Therapists.

The organization’s mission will be to implement Evidenced Based Practices to provide Christian Relationship Counseling to couples married and engaged with Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFCT), as well as, Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) to individuals.

As a result, the organization will offer short term couple or individual therapy (8-20 sessions) to  clients with relationship distress as their chief complaint.

Sincerely,

Ilese Buchanan
